BOYS BASEBALL DIVISION:

Description

Shetland

5-6

The Shetland division aims to provide young players a positive introduction to organized baseball / softball. Shetland is an instructional program for boys and girls to learn the basic fundamentals of baseball / softball including throwing, catching, fielding, and hitting. The season starts with players hitting from a batting tee followed by coach pitch at approximately mid-point of the season. Scores of games are not kept and there are no league standings.

Pinto

7-8

The purpose of the Pinto Baseball division is to continue instructing players at a higher level of organized baseball, with emphasis on the enjoyment and fun of the game. Managers and Coaches teach the fundamentals and basics of hitting, fielding, throwing, pitching, running, catching, and sportsmanship throughout the season. The format of the program uses a mixture of kid and coach pitch throughout the season. Although game scores are kept, and competition is encouraged, there are no team standings during the regular season. All teams participate and team standings are kept during the playoffs.

Mustang

9-10

The Mustang Division strives to provide players with a positive baseball experience with the introduction of competition. The AYLL Organization stresses that Managers and Coaches work with all players to enhance their baseball skills. Players have opportunities to play various positions on defense, and a continuous batting order is used on offense. Fundamentals of base stealing are introduced. Game scores and team standings are kept during the regular season and the playoffs. All teams participate in the playoffs.

Bronco

11-12

The purpose of the Bronco program is to offer the more advanced player an environment to enhance their baseball skills by playing at a more competitive level; and to learn new baseball skills, with an emphasis on teamwork, good sportsmanship, and playing a style of game close to full baseball rules. Game scores and team standings are kept during the regular season and playoffs. All teams participate in the playoffs.

Pony

13-14

The Pony Division is the next step in the advancement of skill sets and completion levels where the goals are to provide a more challenging opportunity for the experienced player. An emphasis on teamwork, good sportsmanship, and playing a style of game close to full baseball rules. Game scores and team standings are kept during the regular season and playoffs. All teams participate in the playoffs.

All Star Baseball

All (except Shetland)

The purpose of the All-Star Baseball program is to provide In-House players the opportunity to play more baseball games including tournaments, and to continue to develop their skills, while playing at a higher level of competition.

Travel Baseball

All (except Shetland)

The objective of the Travel Baseball program is to provide players the opportunity to learn advanced skills, sportsmanship, teamwork, and dedication while playing at a very competitive level often requiring travel.

Fall Baseball

All

The purpose of the Fall program is to provide an opportunity to have fun, use skills that were learned during the Spring season and further develop new skills playing in the division for the upcoming season. Players who are advancing divisions during the upcoming Spring season are giving an opportunity to get a feel for the next level of play.

8U Softball

7-8

The purpose of the 8U Softball division is to continue instructing players at a higher level of organized softball, with emphasis on the enjoyment and fun of the game. Managers and Coaches teach the fundamentals and basics of hitting, fielding, throwing, pitching, running, catching, and sportsmanship throughout the season. The league format is a mixture of kid and coach pitch with the use of a low injury factor ball. Although game scores are kept, and competition is encouraged, there are no team standings during the regular season. All teams participate in the playoff tournament and standings are kept during the playoffs.

10U Softball

The goal of the 10U Softball division is to provide players with a positive softball experience. We stress that Managers and Coaches work with all players to enhance their softball skills. Players have opportunities to play various positions on defense, and a continuous batting order is used on offense. Game scores and team standings are kept during the regular season and playoffs. All teams participate in the playoffs.

12U Softball

The purpose of the 12U division is to offer the more advanced player an environment to enhance their softball skills by playing at a more competitive level; and to learn new softball skills, with an emphasis on teamwork, good sportsmanship, and playing a style of game close to full softball rules. Game scores and team standings are kept during the regular season and playoffs. All teams participate in the playoffs.

14U Softball

13-14

The 14U program is a more advanced program where experienced softball players are offered a more challenging and competitive environment. This program offers the more advanced player an environment to enhance their softball skills by playing at a higher competitive level; and to learn new softball skills, with an emphasis on teamwork, good sportsmanship, and playing a style of game close to full softball rules. Game scores and team standings are kept during the regular season and playoffs.

All Star Softball

The purpose of the All-Star Softball program is to provide In-House players the opportunity to play more softball games including tournaments, and to continue to develop their skills, while playing at a higher level of competition.

Travel Softball
